Odyssey of Sheba Smith

Fate was not kind to Sheba Smith. Her mother and brother lost in a fatal car accident, the impoverished high school sophomore is being raised by her well meaning but alcoholic father. Armed with an innate distrust of the opposite sex, the tough-as-nails loner appears destined to go through life as one of Maine's invisible underclass. However, an incredible tale from her elderly grandmother about her almost forgotten Native American heritage could alter the girl's future. All things rest on a legend about a mysterious, sacred rock near the foggy coast of Kennebunkport and her ability to find it. The picturesque coastline of Maine and a working class neighborhood in Lowell, Massachusetts are the battlegrounds for the intrepid teenager as she wages war with fate itself.
